1. You must have had an ownership interest in one or more businesses that had at least AUD 750,000 turnover in each of at least two of the four fiscal years immediately before you are invited to apply.
2. You and your partner must have combined net business and personal assets of at least AUD 1.25 million that are legally acquired and available for legal transfer to Australia within two years of the visa being granted.
3. You must own at least:
   • 51% of a business with a turnover of less than AUD 400,000 per year, or
   • 30% of a business with a turnover of AUD 400,000 or more per year, or
   • 10% of a publicly listed company.
4. You must have a successful business career and a genuine desire to continuously own and manage a business in Australia.
5. You and your partner must not have a history of involvement in unacceptable business activities.
6. Generally, you must be under 55 years of age, although some nominating State or Territory governments might waive this requirement if your proposed business will be of exceptional economic benefit to the region.
7. You must score at least 65 points on the Business Innovation and Investment points test, which assesses factors such as age, English language ability, qualifications, experience in business or investment, net personal and business assets, and innovation.
8. You must meet Australia’s health and character requirements.

This visa is processed on a case-by-case basis. Processing times can vary.The latest processing times published by the Department of Home Affairs are as follows:

• 50% of applications: 35 months.
• 90% of applications: 51 months.
